These soda syphon table lamps are distinctive early 20th-century pieces, dating from the 1920s onwards, they retain many of the original details that make them so appealing.
The syphon itself is stamped with the Sparklets maker’s mark on the stem – a reassuring indicator of authenticity and quality. The glass body is encased within a protective braided metal wire mesh, originally designed to strengthen the vessel during everyday use. A chrome-plated top sits above, complete with its dispensing lever and the original chain for the inlet valve cap.
A red line around the glass marks the maximum fill level, a practical detail from the syphon’s former life storing and dispensing carbonated water. These functional elements now read as decorative features, lending the lamps a strong industrial character rooted in genuine utility.
Converted into table lamps, the syphons retain their integrity and visual clarity, making them ideal statement pieces for desks, side tables, or shelves – objects with history, repurposed with restraint.
