Set the mood with bar lights. From contemporary ceiling lights to period table lamps, we have a diverse range of lighting options to help you create the perfect ambience.
A home bar or commercial bar has one job: to feel like somewhere you want to stay for another drink. Lighting does most of that work. Low, warm, slightly theatrical light makes glassware glow and faces look good; flat bright light kills the mood stone dead.
We design and make bar lighting in our Herefordshire workshop, as we have since 1982, for home bars, cocktail rooms, hotels and commercial bars. Because every fitting is made to order, we can match your interior, produce runs of matching pendants for over the counter, and build pieces with the character a bar deserves, from bar pendant lights like our Parlour and Aston linear pendants to bar wall lights and bar ceiling lighting.
Bar fittings earn their keep in tough conditions: knocks, cleaning, late nights. Ours are made from solid brass and proper glass to cope. Tell us about your bar, home or commercial, and we will be straight about what will work, what it costs, and how long it takes.
A home bar needs low, warm, atmospheric light: pendants or a linear pendant over the counter, wall lights for glow, and nothing bright overhead. Dimmable fittings let you shift from pouring to lingering. Fritz Fryer makes each of these to order, sized and finished for your bar.
Bar counter pendants should hang 75 to 90 centimetres above the counter, low enough to create pools of light on the surface, high enough to see your guests across the bar. For a linear pendant over a long counter, keep the same height and centre it on the counter line.
Yes. Our bar fittings are made from solid hand-spun brass and proper glass, built for daily commercial use, and wired and tested to current standards in our workshop. We supply runs of matching fittings for commercial bars, hotels and cocktail venues, priced per project.
Yes. Every fitting is made to order, so finishes, sizes and drops can be matched to your interior, whether that is a dark-panelled home bar or a full commercial fit-out. We can also replicate or restore period fittings where the building has history worth keeping.
Yes, and in a bar they should be. All our fittings take dimmable LED bulbs on a compatible dimmer, so the space can run brighter early and drop low and intimate late. We can recommend bulb and dimmer pairings for each fitting.
Warmth, lowness and pools of light. Use warm 2700K bulbs, keep light sources low over the counter and tables, and let the corners stay soft. A little sparkle from glass or a plafonnier adds theatre. The mistake is lighting a bar like a kitchen; it should feel like evening even at noon.
Single made-to-order fittings are priced comparably with premium retail brands; commercial runs are quoted per project with volume pricing. What you are buying is solid materials, handmaking in Herefordshire, and fittings that survive commercial use rather than needing replacing in two years.
Most pieces take a few weeks, made by hand to your order. For commercial projects we agree a schedule at the outset so fittings land with your fit-out. Tell us your deadline and we will confirm honestly whether we can meet it.
