One of our most popular shades, the beautiful Wellington lighting collection is available in a variety of types of glass. Its stylish, teardrop design adds a touch of elegance to any setting. The white and clear glass type is a particular favourite amongst the Fritz Fryer team.
The tiny village of Wellington, where this shade gets its name, boasts a grade 1 listed church, dedicated to St. Margaret.
The Wellington collection is built around clusters: multi-pendant fittings that gather lights at different heights into a single centrepiece, from compact three-light arrangements to cascades for stairwells and voids, with bathroom-rated versions throughout.
The collection is designed and handmade in our Herefordshire workshop, as we have done since 1982, in solid hand-spun brass and proper glass: the Wellington multi pendant, cluster pendant, cascade cluster and dish clusters, plus 3 and 4 light bars for tables and islands, and swan necks like the Wellington swan neck wall light. Bathroom versions, the 3-way staggered cluster, 3-way dish cluster and bathroom swan neck, are rated for wet rooms.
Made to order is where Wellington clusters pay off: light count, spread, drop and finish are all set to your room. Send us your table or void dimensions and we will recommend the arrangement honestly.

A cluster pendant gathers several lights at different heights from a single ceiling point, turning one fitting into a centrepiece with depth and movement. Wellington clusters run from compact three-light arrangements to staged cascades for stairwell voids, all made to order and sized to your space.
The Wellington bathroom range, the 3-way staggered cluster, 3-way dish cluster and bathroom swan neck wall light, is purpose-built and rated for bathroom zones. UK bathrooms have strict zone rules by distance from water, so tell us where in the room each fitting will go and we will confirm what is safe.
Yes, that is where made-to-order clusters earn their keep. Tell us your void’s height and footprint and we will set the light count, spread and drop to fill it properly, with staged drops that carry the eye down through the space. Send photographs and measurements and we will recommend.
A light bar hangs several lights in a line from a single bar fitting, made for long surfaces: dining tables, kitchen islands, bars and counters. The Wellington 3 and 4 light bars give even, low, warm light along the whole surface, made to order in your choice of finish.
Yes. All Wellington fittings take LED bulbs and dim normally with dimmable LEDs on a compatible dimmer, so a cluster can run bright when needed and glow low in the evening. We can recommend bulb and dimmer pairings for each fitting.
Yes. Every piece in the Wellington collection is designed and handmade in our workshop in Herefordshire, as we have done since 1982, in solid hand-spun brass and proper glass, and wired and tested to current standards before dispatch.
Wellington pieces are priced by light count and drop, from attainable bars and single pendants to large stairwell cascades, comparably with premium retail for their size. What you are buying is a fitting sized exactly to your space, handmade from solid brass and proper glass, built to last decades.
