Victorian lighting is the most romantic era in the craft: the gas age at its height, cranberry and vaseline glass, ornate brass, frilled shades, and the first electroliers as electricity arrived at the century’s end. A genuine Victorian piece carries all of that into a room with it.
Our Victorian collection is restored piece by piece in our Herefordshire workshop, where we have worked on period lighting since 1982. It runs from converted gas brackets, like our ornate pair with quilted cranberry shades, to a five-branch late-Victorian brass electrolier and pendants in the era’s celebrated coloured glass, eau de nil frilled bell, striped vaseline bell, vaseline and cranberry.
Every piece is a one-off: stripped, restored, rewired in line with current standards and safety-tested before sale. The best conversions keep every detail of the original, the arms, the shades, the galleries, and only the wiring is new. Ours are converted, rewired in line with current standards and safety-tested in our workshop before sale.

Genuine Victorian shades in these glasses are collected in their own right, and our pieces retain their original shades wherever they survive.
Yes. All our restored Victorian fittings are rewired for modern bulbs and take LEDs, which run far cooler than the bulbs, let alone gas flames, these fittings were built for, kinder to old glass and safer all round. Dimmable warm-white LEDs return the era’s soft glow.
