Converted Soda syphon table lamp

This soda syphon table lamp is an elegant early 20th-century example, featuring a  frosted, imprinted Ross-on-Wye badge on the front of the glass. The marking appears to have been etched on to the glass, a refined and durable method that integrates the branding directly into the surface of the bottle.

The glass body is particularly well formed. Gently tapered – wider at the base, it has a reassuring weight and presence, further enhanced by the ribbed detailing that runs vertically around the body. These ribs catch the light beautifully and emphasise the quality of the original moulding.

Additional marks include the ACBC trademark on the glass and a stamped base reading British Syphon Company Limited, London, anchoring the piece firmly within its British industrial context.

The syphon retains its original chrome top, now sensitively adapted with a coupler to accommodate a lamp holder. The result is a piece that balances authenticity with functionality, allowing the original form and detailing to remain the focus.
