Detailed description

This six-branch continental electrolier is an impressively ornate piece, distinguished by its depth of detail and strong architectural character. Decorative elements are present at every level, giving the fitting a richly layered and highly resolved appearance often associated with Baroque or French Neoclassical design. Circa early 20th Century.

The square-section arms are scrolled and structured, each supporting candle pots edged with gadrooned detailing. This motif is thoughtfully repeated throughout the design, creating a clear visual language that ties the entire piece together. The central stem itself is hexagonal in form, adding to the electrolier’s architectural presence and sense of solidity.

At the base, a large acanthus leaf detail provides a dramatic finishing touch,  Further acanthus ornamentation appears at the top of the stem, reinforcing the symmetry and formality of the design.

Confident, decorative, and highly expressive, this electrolier is best suited to spaces that can accommodate its scale and visual richness, where its craftsmanship and sculptural detail can be fully appreciated.
