Big Spaces Deserve The Right Light

A tall stairwell, entrance hall or vaulted ceiling can be hard to light well. Get the scale or drop wrong and even a beautiful fitting looks lost.

A cluster solves this. It fills the space with one balanced feature, and we’ll help you get it right.

Your Cluster in Three Simple Steps

  1. Share your space
Send photos, pleans or rouch measurements.
  2. We design your cluster
We recommend the formation and scale, and supply a setting-out drawing.
  3. We make it, you enjoy it
Handmade to order, with clear installation guidance for your electrician.

Choose your formation

There’s no single “Best Option” it depends on your space and the look you love.

Cluster Light FAQs

A ready-made cluster is ideal when one of our carefully developed formations suits the scale and proportions of your space. It offers a quicker, more straightforward and often more cost-effective route to a beautifully balanced feature light.

A bespoke cluster may be more suitable for unusual architecture, larger voids, complex fixing requirements or projects that call for a completely individual design. As this involves additional design development and, in some cases, bespoke materials or fabrication, it will typically be a greater investment than a ready-made option.

Every cluster is made for its space, so prices vary. Four things shape the cost:

  1. Size. The more pendants in your cluster, the higher the investment.
  2. Your choice of pendant. Clear glass globes look stunning and are the most cost-effective option. Ribbed glass, different shapes or designs such as our Alton or Aston will change the price.
  3. Your ceiling. A flat ceiling with access above is the simplest and most affordable to install. Skylights, sloped ceilings or restricted access add a little more, and we’ll guide you through it.
  4. How much help you’d like. If you can send us photos or plans and have your own electrician, we’ll guide you remotely. If you’d prefer us to visit and handle every detail, we’re happy to, as a chargeable service.

Consider the width and height of the space, the size of the individual pendants and where the cluster will be viewed from.

A smaller cluster may suit a dining table or compact staircase, while a larger formation can create the right sense of scale within a double-height entrance hall or stairwell.

Yes, of course. That’s what we love doing. Share photographs, plans and approximate dimensions with our design team, and we can help you compare the formations, choose the right scale and understand the installation requirements.

Would you like to book an ‘absolutely no obligation chat’ to understand your options?

IF yes – you can, HERE

Of course you can! Depending on the design, you may be able to select from different glass styles, metal finishes and flex colours. Suspension lengths can also be set to suit the height and proportions of your space.

This allows you to personalise the cluster while retaining the balance of the original formation.

Yes, although the most suitable installation method will depend on the ceiling construction, available access and fixing points.

Our team can review photographs, plans or measurements and advise whether a ready-made cluster will work within your space or if a bespoke installation is the best option.

Cleaning a cluster light can seem pretty daunting, but we are here to help you Maintain your beautiful light fitting.

A regular dusting will help maintain your cluster and we do recommend a thorough clean.

Yes. Cluster lights are particularly well suited to stairwells because the individual pendants can be arranged at different heights to make use of the vertical space.

The right number of pendants, overall drop and cluster size will depend on the proportions of your staircase and the look you want to achieve.

The techy Install bits - Handled by us

The bit you don’t need to worry about, but if you want to get technical, feel free to click here and explore the installation options.

Each flex passes directly through the finished ceiling, with the connections and cable clamps concealed in the void above. This creates the cleanest, most minimal finish without a central ceiling plate.

Ideal when:
There is access above the ceiling and suitable plywood support can be installed.

Installation sequence

  1. Reinforce the ceiling above the plasterboard with plywood.
  2. Using the setting out drawing supplied drill holes through the ceiling, any insulation and the plywood
  3. Feed each of the pendants up through the holes and secure using washer and cable clamp.
  4. Connect all pendants to mains feed in.

A two-part tray conceals the electrical connections while providing a defined fixing point for the pendants. It can be tailored in size, shape and finish to complement the space.

Ideal when:
Access above the ceiling is limited or the ceiling fitting is intended to form part of the overall design.

Installation sequence

  1. Fix top tray to joists.
  2. Bring electrical feed through hole into top tray.
  3. Connect pendant wiring from bottom tray to feed
  4. Insert and tighten side bolts to secure tray.

The pendants are suspended from a semi flush fitting ceiling plate, with a section of plasterboard removed to create space for the electrical connections. The plate can be tailored in size, shape and finish to suit the cluster and surrounding interior.

Ideal when:
A neat, contained installation is required and access above the ceiling is limited.

Installation sequence

  1. Remove section of plasterboard directly above the plate
  2. Form terminal connection between the pendants and the mains feed
  3. Secure the plate to the ceiling using the screws supplied closing the hole formed in step 1
