Your Dream Staircase Starts Here
Not sure what stairwell cluster light you need, or what it might cost?
Stairwell lighting can be difficult to visualise. How many pendants do you need? How far should they drop? What size will suit the space? And, importantly, what should you expect to spend?
Answer 6 quick questions below and we’ll give you an instant guide price, along with a carefully considered recommendation from our in-house lighting designers.
It’s a simple first step towards understanding what could work in your staircase.
Why choose a cluster for your staircase?
Make use of empty vertical space
Tall stairwells and double-height rooms can feel unfinished when all the lighting sits at ceiling level. A cluster light fills the vertical space and helps connect the different levels of the room.
Create a memorable focal point
A staircase cluster light becomes part of the architecture rather than simply providing illumination. It can be seen from multiple angles and changes as you move through the space.
Design the scale around your Staircase
The number of pendants, size of the glass and overall drop can be adapted to suit your ceiling height and available space.
A considered cluster should feel impressive without overwhelming the room.
Receive practical installation guidance
We do more than supply the pendants.
Our team can help determine the most appropriate installation method, provide setting-out information and work alongside you / your architect, electrician or contractor.
Invest in lighting designed to last
Our cluster lights are assembled and finished by hand. Components can be maintained, repaired or replaced, helping your lighting continue to perform for years to come.
” The light is great, suits our space well. It arrived well boxed, in eco packing. Someone just admired it this morning, which is just what I was hoping for. “
Be inspired by real staircase lighting projects
Every cluster begins with a different space.
Some are designed for compact staircases. Others fill large glazed atriums, converted barns or dramatic double-height entrance halls.
The number of pendants, formation, glass style, finish and suspension lengths can all be adjusted to suit the scale and character of your interior.

FAQs
How much does staircase cluster lighting cost?
The cost depends on the number of pendants, the glass you choose, the overall drop, ceiling plate and installation method.
If you’re looking for an initial idea of budget, complete our 6-question quiz for an instant guide price. For more complex spaces, our designers can also prepare options at different budget levels.
Should I go signature or bespoke?
A signature cluster is ideal when one of our carefully developed formations suits the scale and proportions of your staircase. It offers a quicker, more straightforward and often more cost-effective route to a beautifully balanced feature light.
A bespoke cluster may be more suitable for unusual architecture, larger staircase voids, complex fixing requirements or projects that call for a completely individual design. As this involves additional design development and, in some cases, bespoke materials or fabrication, it will typically be a greater investment than a ready-made option.

How many pendants do I need for my staircase?
To start – Thats our Job, you just share with us your dream, plans / dimensions & photos of the space and we will look after the rest.
But as you’ve asked, there isn’t one correct number. It depends on the height and width of your stairwell, how much visual impact you want and the size of the glass shades.
A smaller stairwell may only need a few pendants, while a large double-height space can comfortably accommodate a much larger cluster.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before booking a design call?
Not at all.
Some clients come to us with a very clear idea; others simply have an empty stairwell and know they want to make more of it. A short conversation is often the easiest place to start.
Can I light my a staircase if it has a sloping / vaulted ceiling?
Yes, although the most suitable installation method will depend on the ceiling construction, available access and fixing points.
Our team can review photographs, plans or measurements and advise whether a ready-made cluster will work within your space or if a bespoke installation is the best option.
Can you help me choose the right cluster?
Yes we would be delighted to! Share photographs, plans and approximate dimensions with our design team, and we can help you compare the formations, choose the right scale and understand the installation requirements.
