THE GRAND HOTEL, BIRMINGHAM
Entrusted with the lighting restoration for Birmingham’s historic Grand Hotel, Fritz Fryer undertook the sensitive revival of its grand Louis XIV ballroom luminaires, wall lanterns, and plafonniers. Combining heritage craft with modern engineering, we repaired original gilt metalwork and replaced missing glass, discreetly updating the internal systems to preserve this landmark interior for decades to come.
GLOUCESTER SHIRE HALL
Entrusted with the restoration of Gloucester Shire Hall’s exterior antique lanterns, Fritz Fryer undertook the revival of these substantial historic fixtures dating back to the 1816 Greek Revival building. Bringing them to our Herefordshire workshop, our team completely rebuilt the corroded internal metal structures and meticulously stripped away decades of rust, restoring and polishing the original copper to ensure they safely illuminate the entrance for years to come.
THE HOLST VICTORIAN HOUSE
Appointed to recreate the 1870s atmosphere of Cheltenham’s Holst Victorian House, our team sourced and restored rare mid-19th-century gas and oil fittings, including a standout waterslide gasolier. We meticulously revived the original finishes while discreetly electrifying each piece to deliver an authentic, period-accurate glow.
